Design and planning of two residential buildings in Vienna’s Penzing district through to implementation; site 6: 180 flats, site 7: 67 flats

A new residential complex is being built on the site of the former Körnerkaserne barracks in Vienna. After winning a competition, BWM Architekten are designing two objects at the corner of Spallartgasse and Kendlergasse. The two objects differ in size, as well as in appearance and structure. Site 7 is a largely subsidised residential building with 67 flats; site 6 is freely financed and considerably larger, with 180 flats. A new public pathway breaks up the formerly closed complex and connects Spallartgasse and Kendlergasse.
