Design of the visitor information and canteen of the Chamber of Agriculture in Graz. The so-called City-Country Center is a new contact platform to bring together city dwellers/consumers and farmers/producers. BWM architects consider prevailing clichés as a potential that can be interpreted in a positive and humorous way: Familiar shapes associated with cosiness and the countryside, such as benches and patchwork quilts in the visitors’ center of the City-Country Center as well as the oak fittings evoking traditional taverns, so-called „Wirtshausstuben“ in the café have been translated into a contemporary design language.
