A place that encourages communication.
A multifunctional complex is taking shape on the site of the former Gebietskrankenkasse (regional medical insurance company). BWM Architekten won the high-profile competition for the façade and interior design of the new Hotel Pauls with a view of Esterházy Palace.
The natural stone façade designed by BWM blends in well with the historical palace buildings. At the same time, the open-mindedness and cosmopolitanism of the Esterházy family is reflected in the interior design, as exemplified by the spacious layout of the common areas like the lobby, restaurant and bar. Hotel Pauls aims to bring international guests and the local population together in a place that encourages communication and connection.
The rooftop bar is, quite literally, a highlight – a modern garden with an abundance of greenery overlooking the famous palace. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the 118 rooms also allow guests to enjoy the stunning view, even from their beds, which face the windows. The spacious conference centre meets the high standards of a premium business hotel, with its four rooms of different sizes and a total capacity of up to 300 people.
BWM set great store by choosing authentic and primarily regional materials – opting for ceramic tiles, natural stone and real wood. They also placed emphasis on cosiness, which is reflected, for instance, in an open fireplace in the entrance area, an open grill in the restaurant and a suspended brazier in the rooftop bar.
