Exhibition "F.X. Messerschmidt", Belvedere Vienna
The characteristic head-sculptures by F. X. Messerschmidt are displayed on the space-zoning white cubes that act as central design elements. These react in analytic contrast to the historic ambiente of the lower Belvedere creating the distinctive context of the exhibition. The concentrated illumination of the white cubes skatter diffuse light upon the surrounding paintings, creating a contextual background. The pedestals create a rhythmic corridor through the rooms, form and condense space, and function as both guidance system and information carrier for the entire exhibition.
