Münze Österreich
A wide concrete ramp and a few steps provide elegant access to the shop’s portal. The trees in the forecourt are incorporated in the design of the stairs and protected by means of round gratings in the concrete. The entrance, which is about a metre above ground level, is wheelchair friendly.
Once inside, visitors find themselves immersed in the intriguing world of minting, with interactive elements that guide them on their “treasure hunt”. A broad golden band brings to mind a precious jewel case. The design is based on the Austrian Mint’s corporate culture and on the polar opposites of high tech and tradition.
