Parliamentary Library
In the linguistic sphere of democracy.
BWM Designers & Architects designed the Parliamentary Library, as part of a new, publicly accessible area including a visitor centre inside the parliament building, as an active knowledge centre. At its heart are the historical book depots and the original Hansen shelving. The clear shelving structure defines the library’s functional character, while its atmosphere is characterised by wood. Now a fixed part of any tour of the parliament, the library offers a dynamic exhibition zone, where valuable items from its collection are on display. On top of that, there is a reading room, reading lounge, open-access section, separate work zones and a café to round off the experience.
