London Design Awards
Our project at Straubingerplatz in Bad Gastein was honoured with Platinum at the London Design Awards! The Grand Hotel Straubinger in the category ‘Interior Design - Historic Restoration’, the hotel Badeschloss in the category ‘Interior Design - Hotels&Resorts’. Congratulations to everybody involved!

Blick in den Schatten
Last week, the St. Pölten City Museum, in cooperation with Tangente, opened one of its largest exhibitions to date, "Blick in den Schatten. St. Pölten and National Socialism". This makes the harbingers of National Socialism from 1900, the period of the reign of terror and the socio-political continuities up to the present day tangible. BWM were responsible for the exhibition design.

Wiener Wohnbaupreis 2024
As part of the celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of wohnfonds_wien, the site of the former Theodor-Körner barracks in Penzing was honoured with the Wiener Wohnbaupreis (Vienna Housing Award) 2024 as the ‘best neighbourhood’. The partial development has created an open urban neighbourhood with a wide variety of urban uses that blends in very well with its surroundings. ‘Overall, the project proves that supposed obstacles, such as consistent tree protection in this case, with all the resulting effort, can become a special feature that has a lasting effect,’ said the jury.

Welcome!
Opened in 1912 and built in the late secessionist style, the Hotel Astoria is now welcoming its guests again. BWM Designers & Architects are responsible for the redesign of 125 rooms as well as the general areas such as the lobby with reception and bar or the breakfast and lounge area.

Doors open!
After four years of dormancy and 18 months of renovation, the Imperial Riding School Hotel in Ungargasse in Vienna's Landstraße is now in May ready to welcome its guests on a total of 11,000 sqm. BWM were responsible for handling all the official procedures with the authorities and for reworking the heritage-protected facades in close cooperation with the Austrian Federal Monuments Authority. About tourism …
BWM at AzW: Erich Bernard was interviewed for the new exhibition "About tourism" by the curators on the subject of ‘Hotel’, the magdas Hotel redesigned by BWM was presented as an alternative strategy in the chapter ‘The guest wants it’ and the room of the Grand Hotel Straubinger also found its way into the exhibition… Plus, Johann Moser went on an excursion to the grätzlhotel and magdas Hotel.

Opened!
Following renovation and adaptation, the former synagogue in St. Pölten was reopened on 18 April as a modern and barrier-free centre for exhibitions, history education and cultural events.
